This Privacy Policy explains how Chronicle Canvas collects, uses, and protects information when you use the service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect account information such as your email address, authentication identifiers, plan status, billing customer identifiers, and timestamps related to your account.
We also store content you add to the app, including milestones, notes, folders, dates, reminders, people, tags, locations, links, and files or images you upload on eligible plans.
2. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Chronicle Canvas does not store full payment card numbers. Stripe may collect payment details, billing information, fraud prevention signals, and transaction history according to Stripe's own privacy terms.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide the app, save and display your timeline, enforce plan limits, process subscriptions, support account access, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve the product.
4. Service Providers
Chronicle Canvas uses Firebase and Google Cloud services for authentication, database storage, file storage, hosting, and serverless functions. Stripe is used for checkout, subscription management, and billing portal access.
5. File Uploads
If your plan allows attachments, uploaded files are stored in Firebase Storage under your user account path. You should avoid uploading sensitive information unless you are comfortable storing it in the service.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers that help operate Chronicle Canvas, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer.
7. Data Retention
We keep account data and user content while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Deleted items may remain temporarily in backups or logs. Permanently deleted attachments are removed from active storage when deletion succeeds.
8. Security
We use Firebase Authentication, Firestore rules, Storage rules, and Stripe-hosted billing flows to help protect accounts and data. No online service can guarantee complete security.
9. Your Choices
You can edit or delete timeline content in the app, export eligible data on paid plans, reset your password, and manage eligible billing settings through Stripe's billing portal.
10. Children's Privacy
Chronicle Canvas is not intended for children under 13. Do not use the service if you are under 13.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Chronicle Canvas after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
